Delhi Govt to Introduce Collateral-Free Loans to Boost Small Businesses
The Delhi government has announced plans to provide collateral-free loans to small entrepreneurs in the city, aiming to boost the Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE) sector. This initiative is a result of a collaboration between the Delhi government and the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE).
Officials stated that the partnership intends to expand credit access for MSEs while minimizing the lending risks faced by banks. By offering loans without the need for collateral, the scheme will help many small business owners, especially those who lack assets, to secure funding for growth and development.
The move is expected to spur entrepreneurship, generate employment, and contribute to Delhi’s economic progress. The government hopes that easier access to credit will empower more small entrepreneurs to formalize and scale their businesses, further strengthening the city’s economy and fostering inclusive growth.
