Delhi will introduce its first Delhi hot air balloon rides on November 29. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) completed the final trials at Baansera Park earlier this week. As a result, the city is ready for a new adventure activity on the Yamuna riverfront.
To begin with, the rides will start at Baansera Park. Later, the service will open at the Asita riverfront, the Yamuna Sports Complex, and the Commonwealth Games Village Sports Complex. Lt Governor VK Saxena shared the update on X. He said that the project adds fresh energy to Delhi and improves its leisure options.
Each Delhi hot air balloon ride will cost ₹3,000 per person. The duration will be around 15–20 minutes. Two time slots will run every day. One will open in the morning and the other in the evening. The timing will depend on weather conditions. Each balloon can carry up to four people. Therefore, visitors will get a calm and safe viewing experience.
The balloons will remain tethered to the ground. Because of this, the pilot can control the height and the direction easily. Visitors will rise above the riverfront and enjoy wide views of the city.
The DDA selected a certified operator for the service. The team will manage all launch activities. They will also carry out safety checks before each flight. Their experience ensures that the Delhi hot air balloon rides follow proper aviation rules.
Overall, the project aims to activate the Yamuna riverbank with new and engaging activities. With this addition, Delhi residents and tourists will gain a unique way to see the capital from above.
