Delhi Police have uncovered a major international arms smuggling racket that supplied foreign-made weapons to criminals in India. Investigators found that the syndicate operated from Pakistan and had links to the Inter-Services Intelligence. Officials said the gang sourced high-end pistols from China and Turkey and smuggled them into India through Pakistan.
Police arrested four key members in Delhi and seized ten imported pistols and ninety-two live cartridges. Officers said the gang sold weapons to criminals in Delhi and neighbouring states. Investigators are now tracing the buyers and mapping the number of illegal weapons already sold across the country.
Multiple security agencies are analyzing phone records, bank transactions, and social media profiles to identify other members of the network. They aim to uncover the entire supply chain and locate the handlers in Pakistan.
Security agencies increased vigilance in Delhi and across India after a deadly blast in the national capital on November 10. A Hyundai i20 loaded with explosives detonated near the Red Fort, killing fifteen people and injuring many others. Police identified the attacker as Umar un Nabi, a suicide bomber. Earlier the same day, Jammu and Kashmir Police announced that they had cracked a large transnational terror module and seized 2,900 kilograms of explosive materials.
