Delhi-NCR Rain Alert: Orange Warning Issued for Noida, Ghaziabad

Heavy rain in Delhi-NCR with waterlogged streets and traffic affected

Delhi-NCR is witnessing heavy rainfall on Monday, following overnight showers that drenched the region. The Delhi-NCR rain alert has prompted the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an orange warning for moderate rain in all districts of Delhi, as well as Noida and Ghaziabad.

In Haryana, a yellow alert remains active for light rain in Gurgaon and Faridabad. These alerts are valid until 3 PM on Monday, urging residents and commuters to exercise caution.

The IMD attributed the fresh rainfall to a western disturbance affecting the northern plains. Meteorologists also noted that cold northwesterly winds are expected to lower minimum temperatures starting Wednesday.

Sunday’s weather data showed that Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 34.1°C, slightly below the seasonal average by 0.2°C. The minimum temperature settled at 24.2°C, 1.9°C above normal, according to IMD figures.

Authorities have warned that continuous rainfall may disrupt traffic and daily activities in the national capital region. Citizens are advised to follow weather updates and take precautions, especially in low-lying and flood-prone areas.

With heavy showers expected to persist intermittently, the IMD continues to monitor the situation closely and update alerts for Delhi-NCR and surrounding districts.
