A speeding SUV crashed into a house in Delhi’s Rohini on Monday night, creating panic in the neighbourhood. The entire incident was recorded on CCTV cameras placed both inside and outside the house. The footage clearly shows the sequence of events and highlights how close the family came to serious harm.
The video begins with a black SUV entering the street at high speed. As the driver approaches a sharp turn, the vehicle suddenly swerves out of control. It hits the colony gate with force and, within seconds, rams straight into the first house on the left. Because of the speed, the SUV does not stop at the entrance. Instead, it continues moving inside the residence, damaging furniture, walls and household items.
Another CCTV camera inside the house captured the terrifying moment from the family’s perspective. In the video, a woman can be seen standing in a corner as the vehicle bursts into the room. She holds onto the wall to protect herself as debris flies around her. Thankfully, she escapes without major injuries.
Police reached the spot soon after residents alerted them. According to officials, the car was being driven recklessly and at a speed unsuitable for the narrow residential lane. The driver is being questioned, and the police are checking whether he was under the influence of alcohol.
Residents said that speeding vehicles are becoming a growing concern in the area. They urged authorities to install speed breakers and strengthen night patrolling. The Delhi SUV crash CCTV incident has once again raised questions about road safety and the dangers of overspeeding in congested colonies.
The family is currently assessing the damage to their home. However, they said they are relieved that no one was seriously hurt.
