The demand for Nishant Kumar entry into politics grew stronger on Sunday as supporters held a hunger strike in Patna. The protesters urged Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to give his son, Nishant Kumar, an active role in politics. They said the party needs fresh energy and educated leadership.
Members of the Mukund Sena organised the hunger strike at a prominent location in the state capital. Dozens of supporters sat peacefully with banners and slogans. They claimed Nishant Kumar understands public issues and can strengthen the Janata Dal (United).
Protest leaders said they have raised this issue many times in the past. According to them, workers across Bihar want Nishant Kumar to step forward and serve the people. They warned that protests could expand if the leadership ignores their appeal.
The organisers also said the demand for Nishant Kumar entry into politics reflects the voice of grassroots workers. They believe his presence can help the party connect better with youth and urban voters.
So far, Nitish Kumar has not reacted publicly to the protest. Party leaders have also remained cautious on the issue. However, the hunger strike has once again brought the debate over Nishant Kumar’s political future into focus in Bihar.
