Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan visits cyclone-hit Krishna district, reviews crop losses, and assures relief to affected farmers.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan visited the cyclone-affected regions in Avanigadda constituency of Krishna district on Thursday. He was accompanied by officials as he reviewed the extensive crop damage caused by Montha Cyclone and assured farmers of full government support.

During his visit to Koduru, Pawan Kalyan personally inspected the damaged fields and spoke with distressed farmers who had suffered total crop losses. Farmers explained that heavy rains destroyed their paddy, banana, and papaya crops, leaving them in severe financial difficulty.

Pawan Kalyan consoled the farmers and emphasized that the government would extend every possible form of assistance. He directed officials to prepare a comprehensive crop loss report and ensure timely relief measures.

According to preliminary estimates, the cyclone devastated nearly 2.5 lakh acres in Krishna district alone, while thousands of acres in Guntur district were also hit hard.

Later, speaking to the media, the Deputy CM credited Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s precautionary measures for minimizing the overall damage. He revealed that crops across 46,000 hectares were affected, impacting around 56,000 farmers, most of whom are tenant cultivators. Moreover, he noted that sanitation teams have been deployed in rural areas to prevent disease outbreaks.

To provide immediate relief, Pawan Kalyan announced ₹3,000 assistance for workers and fishermen staying in relief camps. He added that the final compensation package would be decided after reviewing field reports and holding discussions with the Centre.

Before concluding his visit, the Deputy CM thanked officials and health workers for their dedicated service during the cyclone. He also explained that he was ending his tour early to avoid disrupting ongoing recovery operations.
