Srikakulam, Oct 14, 2025: Former minister and senior YSRCP leader Dharmana Prasada Rao condemned the Chandrababu Naidu government for privatizing medical colleges, calling it a “serious blunder.” Addressing the media on Tuesday, he said Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had achieved an unprecedented feat by establishing 17 medical colleges at once something unseen anywhere in India.
He emphasized that Jagan prioritized the health of poor and middle-class families through initiatives like Aarogyasri and government medical colleges. “Privatization makes medical education unaffordable for the poor. Those who buy medical seats for crores will not serve the people,” he said.
Dharmana demanded that Chandrababu immediately withdraw the privatization decision, asserting that quality education and healthcare are essential for an equal society. “Even Jagan’s rivals must admit his unmatched service to healthcare the Palasa Kidney Hospital and Research Centre stand as proof,” he concluded.
