Health officials in New Rajarajeswari Peta, Vijayawada, have reported a decline in diarrhea cases after an outbreak earlier this week. So far, aroun d 130 cases have been registered , with more than 70 patients discharged after treatment. A special medical camp has been set up at the local high school, where beds and medicines have been arranged to provide immediate care. Several patients are still receiving treatment at government hospitals.
Authorities are taking preventive measures to stop the spread of the disease , including spraying bleaching powder in drains and conducting household surveys. Water samples are also being collected for testing.
Ministers Satyakumar Yadav and Ponguri Narayana, along with MP Kesineni Chinni, visited the affected area on Friday morning. Satyakumar stated that awareness campaigns are being conducted and officials have been alerted. Locals attribute the outbreak to contaminated drinking water, panipuri, and certain fish dishes. Steps are underway to ensure safe water supply.
