Dimapur Traffic Route Changes will come into effect from November 28 as the Dimapur Police announced a revised set of road regulations aimed at easing congestion and improving movement across the city. The new system, which begins at 7:00 AM, includes major adjustments on several key stretches, marking an important shift in Dimapur’s traffic management strategy.
According to the advisory issued by Commissioner of Police Aotula T Imchen, two-way traffic has been restored between Deluxe Point and Holy Cross Police Point. The Khermahal–Deluxe Point stretch will also operate as a two-way route. These Dimapur traffic route changes are expected to reduce bottlenecks and streamline daily commuting.
However, the police have also introduced selective restrictions. Vehicles coming from Khermahal or Eros Lane toward Deluxe Point will be allowed only to move toward the New Flyover and cannot enter Nyamo Lotha Road. Similarly, motorists approaching from MP Road may proceed toward Nyamo Lotha Road or the New Flyover, but entry toward Khermahal will not be permitted.
All previous traffic rules will continue unchanged, and the police have emphasized strict compliance. The Dimapur Police have also announced a “zero tolerance” policy for violations, especially regarding No Parking, No Entry and designated parking systems.
Appealing to the public for cooperation, the police said the updated routes are intended to create smoother traffic flow and enhance road safety. The department has urged commuters to follow signage carefully to support a more disciplined and efficient traffic environment in the city.
These measures reflect the administration’s broader effort to improve urban mobility as Dimapur continues to grow.
