Discoms Reach Out to 83 Lakh Consumers with Deputy CM’s Message on Power Awareness

Electricity distribution companies (discoms) in Telangana have reached out to 83 lakh power consumers personally to convey a message from Deputy Chief Minister. The initiative aims to raise awareness about efficient electricity usage, timely bill payments, and the government’s ongoing efforts to improve power supply and services across the State.
Officials said the campaign involves direct communication through phone calls, messages, and outreach programmes, ensuring that consumers receive information about safety measures, tariff structures, and benefits under various government schemes. The Deputy CM’s message also emphasises the importance of responsible energy consumption and highlights initiatives to modernise the power sector, including smart metering and better grievance redressal mechanisms.
The effort reflects the government’s commitment to engaging citizens directly, improving transparency, and promoting awareness about sustainable electricity usage. Authorities believe that personal outreach will strengthen the relationship between consumers and discoms while encouraging timely payments and responsible energy practices, contributing to the overall efficiency of the State’s power infrastructure.
