DLSA Holds Medical Camp

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ferozepur, organised a special medical check-up camp at the Central Jail on Friday. The initiative formed part of the month-long “Youth Against Drugs” campaign.

District and Sessions Judge Sumeet Malhotra, who also serves as Chairman of the DLSA, is leading the campaign. The drive is being observed from December 6, 2025, to January 6, 2026, across the district.

The DLSA organised the medical camp in collaboration with the Civil Surgeon’s office. Doctors from the Civil Hospital conducted health check-ups of inmates and provided medical advice. They also guided inmates on preventive healthcare and healthy living.

Meanwhile, Ms Anuradha, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, DLSA, interacted with the inmates. She explained the objectives of the “Youth Against Drugs” campaign. She warned that drug addiction severely harms physical and mental health.

Furthermore, she encouraged inmates to stay away from intoxicants and make positive life choices. She also urged them to use available rehabilitation facilities to rebuild their lives. According to her, recovery and reintegration into society are possible with determination and support.

The Superintendent of Central Jail, Ferozepur, along with other senior jail officials, attended the programme. The initiative aimed to promote health awareness and reinforce the message of a drug-free society.
