The Dr Ao Junior Girls Football Championship 2025–26 (Tier 2) witnessed a day of high-intensity action in Chümoukedima, Nagaland, as Maharashtra crushed Himachal Pradesh 14–0 while Mizoram outplayed Madhya Pradesh 4–2 in two contrasting yet exciting fixtures.

In Match No. 12, Mizoram produced a spirited performance to defeat Madhya Pradesh 4–2, although both teams exited the tournament after failing to qualify for the knockout stage. Mizoram drew first blood in the 30th minute when Loisy (18) found the net with a confident finish. Madhya Pradesh replied early in the second half, with Khushi Parte (16) converting in the 46th minute. Mizoram restored the lead almost immediately, thanks to a well-struck goal from Mawipuii (11).

The thriller continued as Madhya Pradesh equalised through Komal Saket (9) in the 59th minute. However, Mizoram demonstrated greater resolve in the closing stages. Mawipuii scored her second goal in the 74th minute, and Nunpuii (7) sealed the result with an 81st-minute strike. The match showcased athletic intensity, quick transitions, and commendable fighting spirit from both sides.

Meanwhile, Match No. 11 saw a dominant Maharashtra dismantle Himachal Pradesh 14–0 in one of the biggest wins of the championship. Captain Aysha (7) led from the front with five goals, while Aarna (11) added four. Ipshita (9), Aria, Aanshi, Poonam, and Sharvari also contributed to the massive scoreline. Maharashtra controlled 76% of possession, registered 30 shots on target, and displayed excellent tactical discipline.

The emphatic victory firmly positions Maharashtra as one of the strongest contenders in the ongoing national tournament, while Mizoram’s performance earned appreciation despite their exit.
