Drugs seized Colvale Jail became a major highlight for North Goa Police on Thursday night. Drugs seized Colvale Jail reports show that officers acted quickly after receiving a tip-off about an expected drug sale near the Central Jail at Colvale.

Police teams reached the national highway stretch between 11.40 pm and 2 am. Officers kept a close watch on the area and waited for the suspect to arrive. Moments later, 19-year-old Govind Rameshwar Kumar Rangi from Bilaspur, Rajasthan, stepped off a passenger bus.

Police moved in immediately and took him into custody. During the search, officers recovered 5.4 kgs of ganja worth Rs 5.5 lakh. The team secured the seized ganja and proceeded with the arrest. Officials say the youth planned to deliver the drugs to local buyers in the region.

Police Inspector Sanjit Kandolkar leads the investigation. DySP Wilson D’Souza and North Goa SP Harishchandra Madkaikar are supervising the case. The team continues to trace the supply chain and identify possible accomplices.

The prompt action by the police highlights their ongoing efforts to curb illegal drug movement near sensitive areas such as the Colvale Central Jail.
