Dubai has reaffirmed its commitment to hosting world-class startups in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector, including those from South Korea, according to a senior official from the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF).
Saeed Al Falasi, Executive Director of DFF, shared the vision during a group interview at the Expand North Star startup exhibition on Sunday. He praised South Korea’s innovation in AI and emphasized Dubai’s goal of fostering global collaboration in emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and the Internet of Things.
Al Falasi said the foundation promotes the concept of a “commercial diplomat,” which offers state-level support to startups for greater global access and partnerships. He highlighted ongoing collaboration with the National Research Foundation of Korea as part of this initiative.
In September, DFF also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) to boost cooperation between South Korean startups and UAE government entities. The partnership aims to strengthen bilateral innovation ties and position Dubai as a leading AI innovation hub.
