Team East Kameng clinched the championship title at the 2nd State Level Basketball Tournament 2025, defeating Kamle district in an electrifying final that brought together some of Arunachal Pradesh’s finest young basketball players. The concluding match was a showcase of energy, teamwork and exceptional sportsmanship, reflecting the growing passion for basketball in the state.
Arunachal Olympic Association (AOA) President Er. Taba Tedir, who graced the finale as the Chief Guest, praised the fierce yet disciplined contest. Calling the match “truly inspiring,” he said the commitment and competitive spirit shown by both teams highlighted the promising rise of youth sports culture across Arunachal Pradesh.
Tedir congratulated the victorious East Kameng team for their remarkable performance and commended Kamle district for emerging as worthy runners-up. He described the final as “joyous and heart-touching,” applauding the determination displayed on the court.
He also extended appreciation to the Guest of Honour, Teli Kahi, Sports Officer at the Sports Authority of Arunachal (SAA), for his support and presence. Tedir further lauded the Arunachal Pradesh Basketball Association (APBA) for its dedicated efforts in flawlessly organising the tournament.
Encouraging continued promotion of such events, he emphasised that state-level tournaments are vital for nurturing young talent and strengthening Arunachal’s sporting ecosystem.
