ED action on NHAI officer: Assets Worth Rs 2.85 Crore Seized in Bihar

ED action on NHAI officer as Enforcement Directorate seizes assets worth Rs 2.85 crore

ED action on NHAI officer has intensified after the Enforcement Directorate seized assets worth Rs 2.85 crore in Bihar. The action targets a senior official of the National Highways Authority of India who is under investigation for alleged corruption and money laundering.

The ED carried out the seizure as part of a probe under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. Officials said the assets were acquired through illegal income earned during the officer’s tenure with NHAI.

The seized properties include residential flats, land parcels, bank deposits, insurance investments, and gold and silver jewellery. These assets were found in the officer’s name and in the names of close family members.

Investigators revealed that the case is linked to earlier FIRs filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation. The allegations involve misuse of official position, acceptance of illegal benefits, and approval of inflated project bills.

According to the ED, financial records and property documents showed a large gap between known income sources and actual assets owned. This raised strong suspicion of illicit gains.

The agency stated that further investigation is ongoing. More properties may be attached if additional evidence emerges. ED action on NHAI officer is being seen as a strong warning against corruption in public infrastructure projects.
