Education Key to Sustainable Development: Nirmala Sitharaman
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday said that education remains the most powerful and sustainable path to national development. She was speaking after inaugurating facilities worth ₹18 lakh at the Zilla Parishad High School in Pedamainavanilanka village of West Godavari district.
The newly inaugurated infrastructure aims to improve learning conditions for students from rural backgrounds. In addition, Ms. Sitharaman also inaugurated an Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills hub established in the village by Cyient Limited. The facility is expected to equip students and youth with future-ready skills and exposure to emerging technologies.
The Finance Minister emphasised that quality education, combined with skill development, can bridge social and economic disparities. She said initiatives that bring technology and innovation to villages would help empower rural communities and prepare students for global opportunities.
Ms. Sitharaman appreciated the role of public-private partnerships in strengthening education infrastructure and called for collective efforts to nurture talent at the grassroots level.
