Elected Unopposed as CAB President: Ganguly

Ganguly Elected Unopposed as CAB President

Sourav Ganguly has been elected unopposed as CAB President, marking his return to cricket administration after six years. The former India captain took charge during the Cricket Association of Bengal’s 94th Annual General Meeting, replacing his brother Snehasish Ganguly, who stepped down after completing his tenure.

Ganguly previously served as CAB President from 2015 to 2019 before leading the BCCI. Now, with his unopposed election, he’s back to shape Bengal cricket’s future. His top priorities include expanding Eden Gardens’ capacity to 100,000 and securing marquee fixtures for the 2026 T20 World Cup. He also aims to revive Test cricket at Eden Gardens, starting with India’s clash against South Africa in November.

The elected unopposed as CAB President milestone reflects Ganguly’s continued influence in Indian cricket. He plans to launch a state-of-the-art academy in Dumurjala and strengthen Bengal’s first-class structure. Ganguly’s leadership team, including Bablu Kolay and Sanjay Das, was also elected unopposed.

With Eden Gardens poised for transformation and Bengal cricket set for a boost, Ganguly’s return promises exciting developments for fans and players alike.
