The Bihar government is planning to build an Electronic City in Bihar near Patna to boost the state’s technology sector and create jobs. Officials say the project will follow the model of Bengaluru’s famous tech hub and could generate around one lakh employment opportunities.
The Electronic City in Bihar aims to attract major technology and electronics companies from across India. The industries department has started the process and wants to develop the area as a major centre for IT services and electronics manufacturing.
A team of senior officials from the industries department recently visited Bengaluru to study how its Electronic City functions. They reviewed the infrastructure, management system, and industrial facilities there.
After the visit, the team will prepare a detailed report and submit recommendations for the project in Bihar.
Industry Minister Dilip Jaiswal said the government is serious about the plan. He added that the project will attract investors, create jobs for youth, and encourage skilled professionals from Bihar to return and work in their home state.
