A fake IPS officer arrested case has come to light in Aurangabad district of Bihar. Police detained a man who allegedly posed as an Indian Police Service officer and tried to extort money from local traders. The fake IPS officer arrested incident started when a shop owner reported the matter to the police.
The accused has been identified as Rajesh Shukla, a 53-year-old man from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. According to police, he threatened a trader and demanded ₹1.2 lakh. The victim also claimed that the man had already collected ₹47,000 earlier through online transfers.
Police reached the location and arrested the suspect. During a search, officers recovered several fake identity cards, including cards linked to NIA, CIA, and a political party. They also found suspicious documents, an “NIA” printed T-shirt, and a khaki police cap.
Authorities have started a detailed investigation to check whether the accused cheated other people using the same method.
