Faridkot Punjab Heroin Seizure: 12 Kg Recovered

Faridkot Punjab heroin seizure – police recover 12.10 kg heroin in record haul with two smugglers arrested

Faridkot police in Punjab carried out their biggest-ever drug bust, recovering 12.10 kg of heroin. Officers arrested two men, Sukhpreet Singh and Kadar Singh, for their role in cross-border smuggling.

SSP Pragya Jain said the consignment came from Pakistan by drone. The accused stored it at a house in Jhariwala village for distribution to local peddlers. Police believe they are part of a wider network linked with Pakistani smugglers. Both men remain in custody while officers question them to trace other members of the syndicate.

Calling it the largest single-day seizure in Faridkot’s history, Jain stressed the importance of tighter border checks and advanced surveillance.

At the same time, police revealed that traffickers are exploiting Punjab’s flood crisis to push drugs and liquor. Just days earlier, officers seized 880 cartons of liquor from a truck headed to Gujarat, where alcohol is banned. Another truck carrying 120 cartons was intercepted in Moga. These incidents show that smugglers are taking advantage of the state’s difficult situation to expand their illegal trade.
