First Made-in-India C-295 Aircraft to Roll Out Before September: Jaishankar
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said that the first ‘Made in India’ C-295 military transport aircraft is expected to roll out of the factory before September this year. He made this statement during a meeting with Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares in New Delhi.
Jaishankar said the project shows the growing defence partnership between India and Spain and highlights India’s push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing. The C-295 aircraft are being made in India as part of the government’s Make in India initiative and will strengthen the Indian Air Force’s transport capabilities.
During the meeting, Jaishankar also spoke about global security challenges. He said the world must show “zero tolerance” towards terrorism and stressed the need for strong international cooperation to fight it.
The discussions also covered trade, technology, and closer ties between the two countries. The rollout of the aircraft is seen as a major step in India’s defence manufacturing journey.
