Fresh snowfall hits Himachal Pradesh for the second consecutive day, bringing colder temperatures to the state’s higher reaches. Gondhla and Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district recorded 5 cm and 4 cm of snow respectively, officials said.

Fresh snowfall hits Himachal Pradesh as intermittent rains lash various parts of the state. Guler received 42 mm of rain since Sunday evening, followed by Nagrota Suriyan (38.4 mm), Bharwain (37 mm), Dehra Gopipur (35 mm), Pachhad (34.2 mm), Aghar (32.8 mm), Nadaun (28 mm), and Murari Devi (27 mm).

Thunderstorms appeared in Jot, Murari Devi, Sundernagar, Bhunter, Kangra, Palampur, and Shimla. Gusty winds swept Hamirpur, Narkanda, Kufri, Bajaura, Reckong Peo, Tabo, and Kotkhai, with speeds between 41 and 57 kmph.

The weather office issued an orange warning for heavy to very heavy rains with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, and Mandi on Monday, and a yellow warning for Tuesday in isolated areas. Residents are urged to stay alert and avoid travel in risky zones.
