Gangster Encounter in Amritsar Leaves Key Accused Dead

Gangster Encounter

Gangster Encounter in Amritsar late last night ended with the death of Harjinder Singh, alias Harry. Police said he ran an active criminal network and stayed in touch with foreign-based gangsters and Pakistan-backed handlers. The Gangster Encounter in Amritsar took place when the anti-gangster staff moved in to stop a planned target killing in the city.

Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said Harry had recently walked out on bail and returned to violent activity soon after. His aide Sunny, a resident of Attari, ran into nearby fields and escaped during the chase. Teams have launched a search operation to track him.

Officials recovered two Pakistan-sourced pistols from the spot, including a 9-mm Glock and a .30-bore weapon. They also seized a bike and a mobile phone linked to the accused. Bhullar said the weapons suggest strong cross-border connections.

Investigators received a tip-off that Harry and Sunny planned to attack a rival in Amritsar. The police moved quickly to intercept them before they reached the target. Senior officers said the action sends a message that organised crime and smuggling networks will face strict enforcement.

Police teams continue surveillance in border-belt villages to prevent further criminal movement.
