A girl preparing for NEET in Patna committed suicide at a private PG hostel near the Gandhi Maidan area on Tuesday morning. The incident shocked students and residents in the area. Later, her roommate found the room locked from inside after returning from coaching. As a result, the hostel staff alerted the police. The victim was 16 years old and belonged to Aurangabad district in Bihar. She had moved to Patna to prepare for the NEET medical entrance exam. Moreover, she attended regular coaching classes and stayed focused on her studies.
According to police officials, they broke open the door after receiving no response. They found the girl hanging from a ceiling fan. Doctors confirmed her death on the spot. However, police did not recover any suicide note from the room.
Meanwhile, family members said she spoke to them often and never shared any major problem. Similarly, her friends said she looked normal and calm in recent days.
Police sent the body to PMCH for post-mortem. At present, officers are questioning hostel staff and students. The investigation continues to find the exact reason behind this tragic step.
