Google data center in Visakhapatnam to boost jobs for youth
The Google data center in Visakhapatnam will play a major role in creating employment opportunities for young people, with more than 30,000 jobs expected from the project alone, said the founder of Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM). The Google data center in Visakhapatnam is among several large investments coming into Andhra Pradesh’s technology sector.
Speaking at an event in Vizianagaram on Saturday, the CUTM founder said the State is emerging as a strong destination for technology and knowledge-based industries. He noted that companies such as Cognizant and other global firms are also expanding operations, which will further increase job opportunities for local youth.
He stressed the importance of skill development to help students benefit from these investments. Universities and training institutions, he said, must align courses with industry needs, especially in data management, artificial intelligence, and digital services. The founder added that large-scale infrastructure projects and investor-friendly policies are helping attract global companies to the region. These developments are expected to support long-term economic growth and reduce migration of skilled workers to other States.
He encouraged students to focus on emerging technologies and practical skills to take advantage of the growing employment landscape in Andhra Pradesh.
