The Andhra Pradesh government has urged Primary Health Centre (PHC) doctors to immediately return to duty, assuring that their key demands are being met. Health Secretary Saurabh Gaur stated that the government will issue a G.O. implementing a 20% in-service PG quota across all medical courses starting this year.
During discussions with the doctors’ representatives, Gaur also confirmed that the government is ready to resolve issues related to tribal allowances and other pending benefits.
However, when the doctors’ association requested a 15% in-service PG quota for the next three years, the secretary clarified that a final decision on that proposal would be taken in November.
The government emphasized that essential health services must not be disrupted and urged doctors to resume duties immediately in the interest of public welfare.
