The Grain Procurement Challenge created fresh political heat in Telangana. Kutra questioned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over grain procurement figures. He asked the government to prove its claim that 80 percent of procurement is complete.
Kutra spoke to the media and challenged the Chief Minister directly. He said he is ready to face any punishment if the government proves the 80 percent claim. The Grain Procurement Challenge soon grabbed attention across the state.
Kutra also accused the government of giving false information about paddy procurement. He said many farmers still face delays at procurement centres. He also pointed to transport problems in several districts.
The Telangana government continues to review procurement work. Officials have also received orders to speed up grain collection and help farmers.
The issue has now become a major political debate between the ruling party and opposition leaders.
