Gram Panchayat Staff in Kalaburagi Protest Over Delayed Salaries and Service Issues
Gram panchayat employees in Kalaburagi staged a protest on Tuesday demanding immediate release of their pending salaries and resolution of long-standing service-related issues. The protesters included bill collectors, data entry operators, watermen, and other staff who said they have been working for months without pay, causing severe financial hardship to their families.
The employees gathered outside the district office, raising slogans and submitting a memorandum to officials. They said delays in salary disbursement have become frequent, despite repeated assurances from authorities. Many protesters also highlighted problems such as lack of job security, irregular appointments, and absence of timely promotions.
They urged the district administration to intervene and streamline salary payments, while also addressing service grievances that have remained unresolved for years. Employee representatives warned that if their demands are ignored, they will intensify the agitation in the coming weeks.
