Guntur-Manufactured Air Taxi Clears Crucial Structural Tests
An air taxi designed and manufactured in Guntur has successfully cleared key structural tests, marking a major milestone for indigenous urban air mobility in India. Developed by city-based startup Magnumwings, the aircraft has been engineered specifically to suit Indian operating conditions, with strong emphasis on safety, durability and reliability.
A company official said the air taxi underwent rigorous structural evaluations, including load-bearing and stress tests, to validate its design and performance. The successful completion of these tests confirms the robustness of the airframe and brings the project closer to the next phase of certification and flight trials.
Designed for short-distance urban and semi-urban travel, the air taxi is expected to help reduce traffic congestion and provide faster connectivity. Magnumwings officials said the project reflects India’s growing capabilities in advanced aerospace manufacturing and aligns with the Centre’s push for indigenous innovation. Further testing and regulatory approvals are planned before commercial deployment.
