Andhra Pradesh: Minister Kondapalli Srinivas announced that the government plans to celebrate the birth anniversary of renowned poet and social reformer *Gurajada Apparao* as a *state festival*. Gurajada Apparao, known for using his literary works to address social evils, continues to enjoy widespread recognition even 150 years after his birth.
The minister noted that the government is actively reviewing the proposal to mark Gurajada Jayanti as a state-level celebration, highlighting the enduring relevance of his writings and contributions to Telugu literature.
As part of the celebrations, Minister Srinivas, along with MP 6Loshetti, visited Gurajada Apparao’s house in Vijayawada. They allocated *Rs. 10 lakh* for the modernization of his residence and the construction of a library to preserve and promote his literary legacy. This initiative is expected to honor Gurajada’s contributions and inspire future generations to engage with his social and literary works.
