Hamas Responds to Trump's Gaza Plan

Hamas has shared its response to US President Donald Trump’s peace plan for Gaza. The group welcomed efforts by the US, Arab, and Islamic nations to end the war, allow humanitarian aid, and ensure the rights of Palestinians.

Hamas agreed to release all prisoners held by Israel—both alive and deceased—under the exchange formula suggested in Trump’s plan. They stressed that proper conditions must be in place to carry out this process and said they are ready to start negotiations immediately through mediators.

The group also supported handing over Gaza’s administration to an independent Palestinian authority. This authority would be technocratic, based on national consensus, and backed by Arab and Islamic countries.

However, Hamas did not agree to disarm Gaza or to a phased Israeli withdrawal. They emphasized that broader issues, like Gaza’s future and Palestinian rights, must be addressed through a unified national framework. Hamas wants these matters handled according to international laws and resolutions, and they plan to participate fully in these discussions.

Hamas concluded that while they are open to peace efforts, any agreement must respect Palestinian rights and ensure a fair, comprehensive solution for Gaza and its people.
