Hyderabad: Former Telangana minister T. Harish Rao strongly criticized Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for remaining silent while the Andhra Pradesh government is diverting 423 TMC of Godavari water. Addressing the media, Harish accused Revanth of failing to defend Telangana’s water rights and protect the interests of farmers.

He revealed that the Central Government had written a letter stating it was reviewing the Banakacharla project, yet the CM had not reacted even to that development. Harish also warned that if Karnataka proceeds with raising the Almatti Dam’s height, Telangana could face severe drought conditions.

Taking a dig at the ruling Congress, he said, “Revanth Reddy cannot even make Rahul Gandhi call the Karnataka Congress government to stop anti-Telangana projects.” Harish demanded immediate action to safeguard Telangana’s share of Godavari water and uphold the state’s irrigation rights.
