Harmanpreet to lead Indian team

New Delhi: The Indian men’s hockey team will tour Australia this month as part of its preparations for the Asia Cup tournament. The team will play four matches during the tour from August 15 to 21. The Indian team that will participate in the series was announced on Monday. Harman preet Singh will lead the 24-member Indian team. Karnataka defender CB Poovanna has been selected for the senior national team for the first time. The Indian team is currently undergoing a training camp at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) center in Bengaluru. The Indian team will leave Bengaluru for Australia on Friday for the tour.
