Haryana Unveils Digital Census 2027 Roadmap as the state prepares for a fully digital and modern data-collection process. Financial Commissioner Revenue and Disaster Management, Dr. Sumita Misra, announced that Haryana will conduct the entire Census 2027 through mobile apps, portals, and digital tools available in English, Hindi, and 14 regional languages.
Dr. Misra also activated a complete administrative structure to begin work immediately. Divisional Commissioners now function as Divisional Census Officers, while Deputy Commissioners serve as Principal Census Officers responsible for operations in their districts. Moreover, officials such as ADMs, SDMs, BDOs, Tehsildars, and Naib Tehsildars will manage responsibilities at district, sub-divisional, and block levels.
The state created a parallel structure for urban areas, assigning Municipal Commissioners and administrative heads as Principal Census Officers for cities. Additionally, special protocols will govern military and paramilitary zones, with the Director of Census Operations appointing Special Charge Officers in consultation with defense authorities.
Enumerators will cover about 700–800 people each, supported by Supervisors who manage six Enumerators per unit. The government also mandated the registration of all census staff on the CMMS portal to ensure secure, paperless operations.
Dr. Misra emphasized that Haryana aims to achieve 100% digital coverage, backed by robust training programs, public awareness drives, and new mobile apps. She said the state remains committed to real-time monitoring, secure data collection, and efficient self-enumeration tools.
