The Andhra Pradesh High Court continued the hearing on the Tirumala Parakamani theft settlement case. The CID submitted an additional report to the court as part of the ongoing inquiry. The bench, led by the Chief Justice, examined whether the Lok Adalat settlement carried any legal validity. The court instructed the CID to file two more sealed-cover copies of the report with the Registrar Judicial for review.
The bench directed the registry to place the reports before the court for detailed examination. The judges focused on the legality of the Lok Adalat award in the Parakamani theft case. After reviewing the fresh report, the High Court said it would issue suitable orders. Meanwhile, the hearing was postponed to Wednesday.
The case began in April 2023 when former TTD employee Ravi Kumar was caught stealing foreign currency worth around 900–920 US dollars. Later, the case moved to the Lok Adalat, where a settlement was reached in September 2023. Reports alleged that Ravi Kumar donated seven properties, worth about ₹14 crore, to TTD as part of the agreement.
A petition challenging the settlement led the High Court to order a CID and ACB investigation. The case gained more seriousness after AVSO Satish Kumar, the complainant, died under suspicious circumstances.
