Himachal Becomes Ayurvedic Wellness Hotspot

Himachal becomes Ayurvedic wellness hotspot, says Ayush Minister Goma during the National Ayurveda Day celebrations in Shimla. The state hosted the “Ayurveda Manthan” programme, drawing experts, farmers, and entrepreneurs from across India. Goma highlighted Himachal’s growing role in Ayurvedic wellness tourism and its rich reserve of medicinal plants.

“Himachal becomes Ayurvedic wellness hotspot,” Goma repeated, stressing the government’s commitment to promoting Ayurveda nationally and globally. He announced plans to brand and package local herbs for international markets. To ensure transparency, pharmacy units will shift to a society model.

The tourism department will collaborate to introduce Panchkarma facilities at select hotels and destinations. This move aims to attract wellness seekers and position Himachal as a center of Ayurvedic excellence. Goma also launched the Ayush Sankalan Portal to digitally monitor Ayurvedic hospitals, medicine availability, and doctor attendance.

Additionally, the government will classify certain herbs as commercial crops to boost their cultivation and trade. Discussions are underway to legalize cannabis cultivation for medicinal use, reflecting the state’s progressive approach to wellness.
