Himachal Pradesh will soon introduce a new industrial policy to boost investment and employment. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu made the announcement in Shimla on Sunday. He addressed industry leaders during the second day of the Him MSME Fest 2026 at Peterhoff.

The Chief Minister said entrepreneurs have signed 37 memorandums of understanding worth ₹10,000 crore. These investments aim to expand industries across the state. The government wants to build an investor-friendly ecosystem and position Himachal as a trusted destination.

Sukhu announced plans to develop a world-class “Him Chandigarh” city near Chandigarh. He assured uninterrupted 24-hour power supply for industries at the lowest possible rates. He urged investors to sign implementation agreements quickly and move projects to the ground.

The government will resolve issues linked to Section 118. It will reduce logistics costs and strengthen infrastructure in industrial areas. The state has paid its share for the Baddi–Chandigarh railway line.

Tourism remains a priority sector. The government will allow five-star hotels to boost hospitality investment. Sukhu also announced a plan to convert all 22,000 taxis to electric vehicles. The scheme will offer a 40 percent subsidy.

The Una bulk drug park has received final environmental clearance. The project can attract up to ₹10,000 crore investment and create 20,000 jobs.
