Hindi Films Fail to Show Heroism of Mumbai Police: CM Fadnavis

Hindi Films Fail to Show Heroism

Hindi films fail to depict the true heroism of Mumbai Police, said Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis while addressing a public gathering in Mumbai. He argued that Bollywood often dramatizes police roles but rarely captures the depth of sacrifice and courage shown by real officers.

Fadnavis stressed again that Hindi films fail to depict the true heroism of Mumbai Police, especially during times of crisis. He reminded the audience of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, where police officers fought bravely to save countless lives. He added that such stories of courage deserve more space in cinema than fictionalized action sequences.

According to the Chief Minister, Mumbai Police represent discipline, resilience, and quick response. Their daily responsibilities—ranging from tackling terrorism to managing traffic—are extraordinary. However, films often portray officers as corrupt, careless, or comic figures, ignoring the reality of their service.

Fadnavis also said that authentic storytelling could inspire society, particularly young people, to respect and even join the police force. He urged filmmakers to look beyond stereotypes and create content that highlights true stories of bravery and sacrifice. Moreover, he called on citizens to acknowledge the stress and challenges officers face while protecting the city.

He further explained that Mumbai Police are not just law enforcers but also frontline responders during disasters, festivals, and emergencies. Their contribution ensures that Mumbai continues to function smoothly despite its challenges.

Concluding his remarks, Fadnavis emphasized that the Mumbai Police symbolize strength, service, and dedication. He appealed to Hindi filmmakers to honor this reality on screen and present the force with honesty and respect.
