Home Minister Warns of Dismissal of Cops Linked to ATM Van Robbery
Karnataka Home Minister has issued a stern warning that police personnel found involved in the recent ATM cash van robbery in Bengaluru will face immediate dismissal from service. The robbery, which shocked the city, has raised serious concerns about internal lapses within the police force, especially after preliminary investigations indicated possible involvement of serving personnel. The Minister directed senior police officers to maintain strict vigilance and enforce discipline across all units, stressing that criminal behaviour within the department would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He also instructed officials to ensure a swift and transparent investigation to restore public confidence. The incident has prompted the Home Department to review existing protocols surrounding the movement and security of cash vans, particularly in high-risk zones. The Minister emphasised that rebuilding trust requires decisive action and reiterated that the State government is committed to maintaining integrity and accountability in law enforcement.
