China unveiled its latest humanoid robot, named Xiao Hi, ahead of the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin. The robot interacted with media representatives today, introducing itself as an advanced AI assistant designed to support delegates, organizers, and journalists during the high-profile international event.
Xiao Hi explained that it is equipped with multilingual support, real-time information processing, and protocol-compliant communication features. Its systems combine emotional recognition algorithms, adaptive learning modules, and an extensive knowledge database. These abilities aim to ensure smooth interaction among international representatives and summit officials.
The humanoid robot emphasized its operational principles of cultural neutrality, factual accuracy, and continuous performance optimization. Xiao Hi stated that it can operate fluently in three different languages, a feature expected to be particularly useful for a multinational event like the SCO Summit.
In addition to the technology showcase, the summit will feature cultural activities highlighting Tianjin’s heritage. These include traditional woodblock print exhibitions from Yangliuqing and interactive workshops on intangible cultural heritage. Organizers believe Xiao Hi’s debut as an AI service robot marks a step forward in blending culture with cutting-edge innovation at global summits.
