Hyderabad Moves Toward 24×7 Economy with Night Time Economy Policy

Hyderabad is taking significant steps toward becoming a 24×7 city with the government preparing to implement its ‘Night Time Economy’ (NTE) policy. The initiative aims to promote late-night businesses, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, enhance public transport, and strengthen safety and sanitation measures, making night-time activities safer and more accessible for residents and visitors alike.
Officials project that the policy could generate an economic boost of ₹26,000 crore and create lakhs of jobs by 2032. Key sectors expected to benefit include restaurants, entertainment, retail, and tourism, fostering a vibrant urban culture while encouraging investment in night-time infrastructure.
Urban planners see the initiative as an early step toward Telangana’s ambitious Vision 2047, which targets a $3 trillion economy. By supporting a thriving night-time ecosystem, the policy not only aims to increase economic activity but also enhance the city’s cultural appeal and global competitiveness. Authorities are consulting stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and long-term sustainability of the NTE.
