HYDRAA to Develop Hyderabad’s Saroornagar Lake
The Hyderabad Rivers Development and Management Authority (HYDRAA) has announced plans to develop Saroornagar Lake, which spreads over 90 acres in Hyderabad. The project aims to restore the lake, improve its surroundings, and enhance public access for recreation and environmental benefits.
HYDRAA officials said the development will include cleaning the water, landscaping, walking paths, seating areas, and facilities for visitors. They added that the initiative is part of Hyderabad’s broader efforts to revive lakes and water bodies across the city.
In addition, the Commissioner of Hyderabad assured support for the restoration of the heritage Katora Houz pond, highlighting the government’s focus on preserving historic water bodies alongside environmental conservation.
Officials said the projects will improve local ecology, prevent water pollution, and provide green spaces for citizens, while also promoting tourism and community engagement. Work on both projects is expected to begin soon.
