Income Tax Raids Seize ₹1 crore in cash during raids at multiple offices and establishments of Science House Medical Private Limited in Bhopal. The raids took place on Wednesday, with department officials uncovering 30 bank lockers and a significant amount of cash.
In addition to the cash, investigators discovered that Science House had invested in foreign companies. The raids also revealed gold and silver jewelry, although the full assessment of these assets was still ongoing across Bhopal, Indore, and Mumbai.
Earlier, the Income Tax Department raided the house of medical equipment trader Rajesh Gupta and his associates. Raids were also conducted at the homes and offices of suppliers Jitendra Tiwari, Shailendra Tiwari, and Mohan Sharma—all linked to Science House.
Science House has been supplying medical equipment in Bhopal since 1994. The company also operates a factory in Uganda and offers diagnostic and healthcare services across India. Investigations are ongoing, and the department has questioned company director Jitendra Tiwari and others involved. Allegedly, Gupta had close ties with a senior IAS officer, though the officer’s identity remains undisclosed.
