India and EU to Sign Security and Defence Partnership Next Week
India and the European Union have agreed to sign a security and defence partnership next week, according to Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas. She said the agreement will strengthen cooperation between India and the EU in areas such as defence, cyber security, and strategic technology.
Kallas also highlighted the strong economic ties between India and the EU. She described India as “indispensable” for Europe’s economic resilience, noting that the EU is one of India’s largest trading partners. This shows the importance of both countries working together not only on trade but also on security and strategic issues.
Officials from India and the EU said the partnership aims to address global security challenges and enhance defence collaboration. The agreement comes at a time when both sides are looking to deepen strategic ties amid geopolitical uncertainties in the Indo-Pacific and Europe.
This deal marks a significant step in the growing India-EU strategic relationship.
