India has achieved a major milestone as India enters coveted club of telecom equipment manufacturing nations with the launch of BSNL’s indigenous 4G stack. Announcing the development on Saturday (September 27, 2025), Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said India now stands as the fifth country in the world capable of manufacturing telecom equipment.
Scindia highlighted that India’s image has transformed from being a services and consumer-driven economy to a hub of production, innovation, entrepreneurship, and exports. He noted that the indigenous 4G stack demonstrates India’s growing strength in advanced technology and its ability to compete globally.
With this achievement, India not only secures a position among the top nations in telecom manufacturing but also signals a shift toward self-reliance in critical infrastructure. The minister emphasized that such progress will drive exports, boost local industries, and strengthen India’s role in global supply chains.
As India enters coveted club of telecom equipment manufacturing nations, it sets the stage for further breakthroughs in 5G and 6G technologies. Scindia underlined that India’s telecom innovation will enhance connectivity, empower startups, and open opportunities for sustainable digital growth.
