The India issues advisory for nationals in Nepal amid violent unrest after deadly protests swept the Himalayan nation. At least 19 people have died, and more than 100 suffered injuries as Gen Z demonstrators clashed with security forces.

India’s Foreign Ministry urged citizens to stay alert and follow local guidelines. Officials said they were deeply saddened by the loss of young lives and wished a quick recovery to those injured. The ministry also reminded that India and Nepal share close ties and stressed the need for peace and dialogue.

The India issues advisory for nationals in Nepal amid violent unrest came after authorities imposed indefinite curfews in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and nearby areas. Police banned gatherings, marches, and meetings inside Kathmandu’s Ring Road.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expressed sorrow over the deaths. He blamed “selfish infiltrations” for triggering the violence and promised relief for the victims’ families, along with free treatment for the injured. Oli also announced an investigation panel to assess damages and prevent such events in the future.

The protests started after Nepal blocked Facebook, YouTube, and X. Although the government later lifted the ban, anger over corruption and poor economic opportunities drove young people back to the streets.
