India Launches Agni-Prime

India launches Agni-Prime missile from rail-based mobile launcher system, marking a groundbreaking advancement in its defense capabilities. This successful test, announced by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, highlights India’s commitment to enhancing its strategic mobility and rapid deployment infrastructure. The Agni-Prime missile, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is a next-generation ballistic missile with a range of up to 2,000 kilometers.

The rail-based mobile launcher system is a game-changer. It allows the missile to be discreetly transported across the country using the vast railway network, blending with civilian trains to avoid detection. This stealth capability significantly boosts India’s second-strike potential and strengthens its deterrence posture. The system also enables quick reaction times, making it ideal for dynamic battlefield scenarios.

Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO, the Strategic Forces Command (SFC), and the Armed Forces for their coordinated efforts. He emphasized that this achievement places India among a select group of nations with such advanced missile mobility technology.

The Agni-Prime missile features composite materials, improved propulsion, and advanced guidance systems. Its lighter weight and enhanced accuracy make it a formidable asset in India’s strategic arsenal. This launch not only reinforces India’s defense preparedness but also showcases its growing self-reliance in indigenous military technology.
