India Slams Pakistan Over Afghan Clashes, Labels It ‘Sponsor of Terror’
India has strongly rebuked Pakistan for blaming external factors, including India, for recent border clashes with Afghanistan. In a press briefing on Thursday, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal called out Islamabad’s “old practice of blaming neighbours” to deflect from its internal failures.
Jaiswal reiterated India’s firm support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty, unity, and independence, and emphasized that peace in the region depends on ending cross-border terrorism. He also labelled Pakistan a “sponsor of terror,” citing its long-standing record of supporting extremist groups that destabilize the region.
The remarks come amid growing tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, with repeated skirmishes along the border and worsening diplomatic ties. India has maintained that the region needs constructive engagement, not blame games, to achieve lasting peace. The MEA’s comments signal India’s firm stance against terrorism and its backing of Afghan stability.
